Muvhango Celebrates 25 years Anniversary
South Africans have been enjoying the drama series which was sole written by the South African professional movie writer, journalist Duma ka Ndlovu.
As a matter of fact, the TV series recently celebrated it’s 25 years since it first aired, so the first episode of the movie was premiered back in 1997.
The SABC 2’s drama movie Muvhango, is said to be the very first Tshivenda language movie, and today we at Mthandeni join the team to celebrate 25 years of showing the movie.
Muvhango has seen the movie family grow, right from when the show began. The popularity and strength of the program has been growing quite impressively, while ensuring steady supply of intriguing storylines.
Fans of the movie together with the movie crew have been voicing out their excitement about the movie through their social media platforms, South African media platforms, some moments ago was filled with pictures of the movie cast and crew as they were celebrating at Thohoyandou , from where they headed to Kalahari Waterfront for their gala dinner, meanwhile the crew ensured that the celebration was live on TVs and various social media accounts.
The movie crew through its official Instagram account shared images of the celebration which was last Saturday, 25th June at Limpopo.
Dr Duma Ndlovu who has been the movie writer took to the stage to share his gratitude and appreciation to all the movie’s supporters, fans, the Venda community and even the movie cast & crew.
The show was hosted by the South African actress, Maumela “Suzan’ Mahuwa who has been playing her role in the movie.
One of the topics which the movie writer expressed gratitude about was the fact that the movie is being moved from Jo’Burg to Venda which is where the show production began.
The movie’s chief executive officer (production department), Mandla Ka Nozulu, said they expect to celebrate another 25 years anniversary for the movie Muvhango.
